Judy Crowgey

Judy has been creating some type of art her entire life, having had the same art teacher for twelve years of public school in Massachusetts. She continued her art studies throughout college but only started painting seriously within the last few years.  Judy draws inspiration from her New England coastal roots as well as the beautiful mountains in southwestern Virginia. Painting trips with other artists to different parts of the United States as well as trips abroad also provide an unlimited subject matter for new paintings.  She also enjoys expressing her creativity through colorful abstract pieces that define themselves.

Judy paints primarily with acrylics and watercolors and draws with pen and ink.   She enjoys experimenting with new mediums and techniques.  Attending  workshops taught by outstanding local artists is an invaluable opportunity to learn and experiment with other artists.

The goal of making an artistic piece is to create something pleasing to the artist as well as the viewer.   It is an exciting process and is especially rewarding when a new technique yields unexpected results.  As Judy continues to explore and create, she hopes that people who see her work will enjoy what they see.
