Ruth Lefko is a North Carolina native who has lived over 35 years in Christiansburg, Virginia. She and her husband live in a beautiful rural setting, enjoying the seasonal changes over acres of rolling pasture and century-old hardwoods. Retirement from public education coupled with the surrounding beauty of nature has enabled Ruth to pursue her lifelong interest in painting.
Taking inspiration from her Uncle John Trott, an accomplished artist, Ruth has quickly gained attention from family and friends. She is a member of the Blacksburg Regional Art Association, and the Montgomery Museum/ Lewis Miller Art Center where she manages four Museum Off-Site Galleries in local businesses. She regularly attends workshops and has had several paintings entered in local juried art shows.
Her recent submission to the Virginia Watercolor Society received the Judy A. Perry Award of Excellence. She is also featured in the publication titled The New River Valley Through an Artist's Eye.
