I am native of Dugspur, Virginia, and have been a resident of Pulaski County for the past 29 years. Growing up I attended Dugspur Elementary and one week during art class I told Lynn Clontz, who was setting next to me, that I wanted to be an artist. Years later, I went to work as an artist for the Roanoke Times. I then got married, had children, and became a full time mom. Art took a back seat.

As my children got older I went to work in the local school system and became interested in the SmartBoard technology that was used in the classrooms. I started making games first using the SmartBoard software and then Adobe Flash to write customized games and create lesson plans. I became certified in Adobe Flash, Illustrator, and Photoshop. During this process of creating digital art, I came full circle and started painting in oils once again.

I love the feeling of oils and have recently started mixing my own colors from dry pigments, using linseed oil and pigment with no fillers or additives. I love computers and software, but painting has always been my first love, and I hope that is conveyed through my paintings.
